Svein Tuft gunning it towards a perfect 3rd place!

Canadian Time Trial Champion Svein Tuft deserves honorable mention for his super TT ride at the Driedaagse De Panne. Garmin was entering the TT stage with already a huge win by Tyler Farrar on the last road stage. I'm sure Tuft felt super confident to put in a good ride. And he did. Holding the best time (19:08)  for most of the afternoon, he was well placed  for a stage win. Until Lieuwe Westra cracked the 19 minute mark, the Canadian was hanging on for second.

He has the talent for the time trial,  his speciality. Tuft  is a TT giant;  five time National TT Champion, 2008 Pan Am Games  TT Gold Medalist and most notably  Silver Medalist at the  2008 UCI Road World Championships Time Trial in Varese, Italy.

Going on to winning the gold medal....

Garmin teammate David Millar proved better finishing the short 14 km course in first, twenty-four seconds ahead of Tuft.  Millar 1st & Tuft 3rd! All in all it proved a banner day for the Argyle Armada with David Millar winning the overall with a ...Tuft performance!
