Flandrians do battle...Rambo vs Casper & Rollin.
Nico Eeckhout pulled out an exciting sprint finish to win today's stage 2 of Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen. This was the final day of this important stage race also called Johan Museeuw Classic. Today's stage travelled through Museeuw's hometown of Gistel and over the famous Kemmelberg.
At the line...
Rollin could only watch as Eeckhout stretches & Casper lunges.

At 40 years old, it's certainly a testament to Eeckhout's iron will. You may remember last season he broke two vertebrae in the GP Cerami. He returns and riding with discomfort wins his first race of the season, with panache. After watching the Belgian nudge pass the lunging French fastman Jimmy Casper, it was so good to see the tough guys duke it out Flandrian style.
Dominique Rollin rode an amazing race finishing a solid third place. It looked like the Québecois sprinter would take the stage win but he didn't have all the 'horses' to do it. His time will come soon. Mark my words. As the FDJ rider looks to be approaching good form for his target; the Classics.
This will be Eeckhout's last season and he's happy to achieve this victory especially coming back from a near career ending injury... the Rambo way!
