Friday File: Hinault, Dauphine, Let the Good Times Roll & Roar of the Lion Cycling Cap

Enjoy this penetrating documentary on Bernard Hinault, not only there is incredible footage here - it's a good companion to Richard Moore's, 'Slaying the Badger.' If French is not your forte, then it is wonderful with the vintage footage placing the viewer in context of that turbulent era. Hint: keep your eyes for the La Vie Claire launch... the shadowy Bernard Tapie introduces a glitzy spectacle.

This Sunday is the hilly Criterium du Dauphine and it's going to be interesting to watch how Froome and Contador will fare. A pre-Tour test before June. My darkhorse for podium: Andrew the Pit Bull Talansky is coming off a second place in Paris-Nice. Good to see Thor Hushovd riding well. Finishing four top seven stage placings in the Tour of California. The God of Thunder seems to be back in form and I'm betting he wins a stage in the Dauphine.

Startlist.
