Friday File!

A French theme today on the heavily French sponsored Vuelta...

According to inrng.com it just happens that Carrefour (French Supermarket chain) sponsors the red jersey supplied by Le Coq Sportif. Other notable French companies involved: Cofidis, Alcatel and ASO.

My point is young 21 year old, Warren Barguil won today's stage 13, becoming the first French rider to win a stage in this race. His first big world tour win cements how promising this French climber is. Last year he won the Tour de l'Avenir along with the points and mountains classification.

Thibaut Pinot, my pick for stage victory and top-five, is riding well and with three massive mountain stages upcoming ... he just may win one.

Thirty-four year old Frenchman, Sandy Casar is calling it quits. He won 3 stages in the Tour, notably stage 18 in the 2007 Tour after a dog caused him to fall...

Dog Daze...
A dog won't slow Casar from winning stage 18
in the 2007 Tour de France!
