The day's stage included bad news,
GC favorite, Mikel Landa abandoned 20kms into the stage with gastroenteritis. Tom Dumoulin struggles with a saddle sore and drops way down in GC to 29th, 11'42".
The good news,
Debutant, Giulio Ciccone of Bardiani CSF impressively wins his first Grand Tour stage and afterwards gets nice support from bike sponsor, Mario Cippolini. Andrey Amador is definitely a GC contender and is currently second overall behind new maglia rosa, Bob Jungels. The young guns are taking over this exciting Giro.
