"For sure we were aiming for the stage win without thinking too much about the leader's jersey, but I'm obviously happy with the result today. I feel good and ready to face the last two stages. Tomorrow could be another tricky stage, while Saturday will be an epic day. We'll do our best to defend the leader's jersey.
It's really big. I have slowly in the last few years been building up so to finally be in the yellow jersey in a WorldTour race is really incredible.
It's also nice that Tadej can have the spotlight and I can slowly make my progress behind the scenes and show up on a day like this and get the leader's jersey."
