A Maple Leaf Mission in California.

Canadian cycling Team SpiderTech received a great shot in the arm with it's debut selection at the  Tour of California. Director Sportif, Steve Bauer is helping to drive this young team of Canadian hopefuls in America's biggest stage race.

The first Canadian UCI continental team will be well represented by Martin Gilbert, a sprinter winning a stage at last year's Tour of Missouri. And the squad has won 10 UCI races this year. Amidst the excitement of this important  invitation, the team wants to become the first Canadian team to compete in the Tour de France. But, first experience counts and the young band of Canucks will learn against world-class competition featuring defending champ Levi Leipheimer, Mark Cavendish, Fabian Cancellara, and Andy Schleck.

It's both exciting and daunting to be thrusted in the big cycling limelight. With the experienced Bauer at the helm the ship  is set for an educational voyage through the often rough waters of world-class racing. With plenty of hard work & experience gained will be huge steps in the right direction Le Tour way!
