Last Worlds?
Going for it in the Geelong time trial.
The ageless Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli is talking about retirement. Could it finally be? She already declared that she is not thinking of competing at the London Olympics.
After more than 1000 victories she is "a bit tired psychologically" and not sure to compete this upcoming season. If there ever was an Ironwoman of cycling then she carries it confidently on her jersey.
Adding to her lengthy palmares, the 52 year old won her 57th French national title (time trial) and finished fifth in the time trial and twelfth in the road race in the 2010 Geelong World Championships.
If she does retire, she leaves behind a cycling legacy virtually hard to beat. I hope she finds that unique motivation and she goes on for another season... Long live Queen Jeannie!
