Val di Sole: Pendrel Power!

Congrats Catharine!

Last Saturday, Canada's Catharine Pendrel won her 7th World Cup win, third of the season, and won the UCI Mountain bike World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy. She is the defending World Cup Champion and was super strong soloing to victory.

Drama unfolded on the last lap as World Champion Maja Wloszczowska overtook World Cup leader Julie Bresset and passing European Champion Gunn-Rita Dahle taking second place. Dahle took third.

For Pendrel, she finished a mere 40 points from Bresset for the World Cup Overall Standings. Canadian's Marie-Helene Premont finished 11th and Emily Batty finished in 12th. In the Overall Standings Premont finished a strong 4th and Batty in 8th.

Pendrel is a huge favorite leading up to the World Championships race in Champery, Switzerland on September 3rd. Five time Canadian Champion, Batty and 2009 World Champion, Premont will anchor a strong Canadian team that, I believe will have golden success!
