Sunday Scenic Ride and the Giro TTT

Riding over to the North Shore...

After watching SKY rule in the TTT, it was time for a ride over to North Vancouver.

Spring has finally hit us nicely with warmth and sun. I let go of my warmers and exposed my pale legs and arms to the sunshine. My destination is Cates Park just over the Second Narrows Bridge. It's gently rolling not extreme like going up Mount Seymour. But, I'm all about gently rolling and trying to get some miles in the bank before the Canada Day Populaire 146 km, that's for 146 years as a nation. I forgot how competitive Sunday riders are along Dollarton Hwy. Before I could turn, I was passed by a group of Assos clad riders. I let them go and turned into Cates Park for a short break before returning back to Vancouver.

The only thing that was a negative was negotiating on the notoriously narrow and treacherous Second Narrows Bridge. It's so narrow that riders can only ride single file and have to stop to yield to oncoming riders or pedestrians. I guess it's a minor inconvenience, especially since the view is quite stunning.

Maglia Rosa: Salvatore Puccio

Bradley Wiggins can be extremely happy as SKY won the TTT. A worker gets his reward today as Salvatore Puccio wears, for the first time, the Maglia Rosa.

Kudos to injured, mummy-like -  Laurent Pichon who crashed yesterday
but braved on today.
