There's a ray of sunshine in those grey clouds as Pro Continental team, Bardiani Valvole CSF Inox won stage 4. Enrico Battaglin sprinted to victory to snatch a huge victory for the smaller budget Bardiani team. Enrico is the nephew to famous Giovanni Battaglin, the winner of the 1981 Giro and Vuelta. Italian riders claimed the top three spots giving the Tifosi more reason to cheer.

Rydering Consistent: Two to watch...

Ryder Hesjedal, finishing 8th moving up to 5th overall. Looking good I say. And the quietly surging, Cadel Evans finishing 6th and moving up to hold 10th overall.

All in the family...
