Another sauna on stage 2 Tour of California.
Temperatures reached 42 C today and watching the riders withered up the 5km summit outside of Palm Springs, I was thinking the ice cube machines were going overtime in getting ready for the numerous ice baths ahead.
Colombian, Janier Acevedo left Tejay van Garderen on the final km for a huge stage win thus taking the yellow jersey. Tejay van Garderen slots into second place looking every bit as a contender with teammate, Mathias Frank in fourth overall.
