Most cycling fans are familiar of the steady rise of Dutchman, Lieuwe Westra when he rode for Vacansoleil. He is a TT specialist and not shy when the roads rise. As a new Astana rider, he is in Paris-Nice applying his services for Vincenzo Nibaili and Jakob Fuglsang.
In the 2012 Paris-Nice, he won the mountainous stage 5 to Mende pulling away from Bradley Wiggins to win the stage and cement his second overall. A solid performance.
The mountain stages start Thursday... a good opportunity for Westra to shine some more.
