The oldest race in Flanders starts tomorrow... Scheldeprijs. Situated neatly between the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix, it's known as the sprinters classic - first held in 1907. This classic race will be loaded with contenders, many using it as the tune-up before the supreme cobble clash of Paris-Roubaix. If the weather turns nasty (see the 2012 video below) bike handling skills will be put to the test. Mix in a lot of wind, sprinters teams will have to get their rush hour men in position for the final sprint... Time for the sprinters.
My picks: Greg Van Avermaet, Moreno Hofland, Arnaud Demare
