Two veterans for Orica Greenedge...
Matt Hayman (36 yrs old & first Tour) and Svein Tuft (37 yrs old, 2nd Tour)
Frankie Andreu interview with National road/ITT champion, the serene Svein Tuft and his thoughts on twitter...
Who would attack on the first stage of the Tour and ride like a bat out of hell and pick up enough points for the polka dot jersey? Why, none other than #shutuplegs himself ...Jens Voigt!
Riding his 17th Tour and his last, Jens is the ironman of the Tour and oldest rider at 42 years old. It's hard to believe that his first Tour was back in 1998 and he's just as enthusiastic still riding with his patented panache. I'm definitely going to miss his high octane riding.
Jensie, the fox outfoxed all on the breakaway.
Marcel Kittel is simply on fire winning stage 1 and proving, once again, Giant Shimano has the best lead out train in the peloton. He's on course to tie and most likely better his 4 stage wins from 2013.
With Mark Cavendish down and out of the running, Kittel will have to 'contend' with the likes of sprinters; Peter Sagan (2nd), Ramunas Navardauskas (3rd) and Bryan Coquard (4th).
A ticket to yellow!
"Now I have the white jersey, tomorrow the yellow? Whatever happens tomorrow, I'm here for winning the green jersey, that's all."
- Peter Sagan
