Frederic Brun gets a necessary shower at the finish
'Today's hot (hovering around 40C), hard and bumpy stage was change of tactics for the Tinkov Saxo team as they set up Sagan for the stage win. Their hopes for the GC seems to be out the door now. Greg Van Avermaet outlasted Sagan in the final thrilling sprint after a long hard day. A fitting Flandrien ride for Belgian Van Avermaet, that makes it two stage victories for BMC. Again, Sagan couldn't pull the trigger and chalks up his fourth second of the Tour. Bringing a Tour total of fifteen second places for the Slovak. His eternal second run continues, but for how long?
In search for stage victories...
Ribs, lungs don't let me respond.

Honorable mention goes unanimously to Jean Christophe Peraud...
Recipient of a horrific crash. Bloodied with shredded bib shorts rode back to the team car for bidons for his team mates and bravely finished the stage in 96th place 5'44". I think he should've received the combativity award.
