Chris Froome and his Team Sky ruled the first mountain stage making the rest of the favorites well not favorites. The GC favorites lost huge amounts of time especially Tejay Van Garderen starting the stage a close 12 seconds behind, now an eye-opening 2'52" adrift. Credit also goes to Sky's top soldiers; Porte and Thomas for making Froome's antics that much easier to perform. Porte has climbed excellently and even pipped Quintana at the line to take bonus seconds.

Froome's success has garnered doubt from the media and the 'D' word is mentioned, his reply...

"We're a clean team I'm winning the Tour clean, I'm extremely proud of it."

"Put the knife in it and twist it."

- David Braisford, Sky.

Is this the death blow to the Tour?

Adam Yates, Tour debutante, 7th place...
