There's plenty of good out there...

I'm sure most cycling fans are following the action at this year's Tour Down Under. As the racing has been exciting to watch but what happened to Tyler Farrar was extraordinary. On stage 3, a fan saved the day for Farrar by lending him his bike and shoes to finish the stage. Although this is against UCI rules, the UCI jury made an exception and kept him in the race.

A statement read:

"Race officials have confirmed Farrar will be allowed to continue the race as an exception to the rule because a bad crash with several other riders involved created a hectic situation which meant neither his team car nor the event's neutral service vehicle was in a position to provide assistance. This ruling respects the spirit of the sport and considers the rather exceptional circumstances in which this occurred. In normal circumstances accepting outside assistance such as Farrar did today would result in his disqualification from the race."

What Tyler Farrar's savior received for his good deed...
