Under sunny skies, Alpeldoorn was the setting for stage 1 - the 9.8km ITT dash. It came right down to heavy favorite, Tom Dumoulin pipped Primoz Roglic by just 0.01 seconds to win the ITT and wear the first maglia rosa.
