Can this year's Paris-Roubaix get any tougher?
The 115th edition will be the farewell to Tom Boonen ride and the organizers announced an added 2.2 km of pave. Eddy Merckx says Tornado Tom can win, "I think he will also show himself in races before that. And yes, Boonen can win Roubaix. If you see that last year he was second after a difficult preparation, this year he can definitely win." I agree he has a chance to win, but he'll have to be in great form to beat the likes of Peter Sagan, Sep Vanmarcke, Alexander Kristoff and Edvard Boasson Hagen.
For now, the organizers have simmered the pot with extra pave and on April 9th... it will be ready to serve. A tougher day on les pave, to be sure.
256km, 29 sectors - 2 more than last year, 55km of pave.
