The rest day brought bad news of positive COVID-19 results as the entire teams of Mitchelton-Scott and Jumbo-Visma pull out of the race. Michael Matthews of Sunweb also tested positive and is out. As the uncertainty of COVID-19 and with the colder weather as on stage 9 the race goes on with curtailed stages a possibility.
