A Bourquet for Johannessen & Before the final time trial

Johannessen and Vine on Mont Bourquet

Tobias Halland Johannessen (first win of the season) takes stage four of the Etoile de Besseges. Already third in yesterday's stage, the 22 year old Norwegian won the uphill finish of Mont Bourquet ahead of Jay Vine, Antonio Tiberi and Clement Champoussin. Tomorrow's final stage is an 11kms ITT with a 2.6 km climb to finish.

Alberto Bettiol in the points jersey is second on GC, seven seconds behind the leader Benjamin Thomas.

Tomorrow is the short transalpine time trial which will be a challenge for seconds.

"It will be my first time trial of the season, but also an opportunity to test the new material of the team. It will be necessary to do a full time trial, but I remain in the same spirit with which I started the first day, that is, I'm here to have fun. We will see tomorrow how things go, however the form is growing and I see improvements day by day."

Before his last time trial start, Martin Johannessen and his coach Knut Neumeier discussed how the fourteen stages were ridden before they were met with a surprising question from Johannessen: "What can you tell me about this race?" Albert Bourquet had already been in the break twice and was desperately looking for a top result in a long time.
