Hugh Carthy on stage 1 of the Tour of the Alps took 3rd place after a huge attack on the final climb, only to be caught with 150 meters to go. Alexander Cepeda earned himself the KOM jersey and is in the top 15 finishers. Plenty more climbing to go.
