Greg van Avermaet will retire at the end of the season and was given a fine send-off. After 17 years as a pro, the popular Belgian won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, winning Paris-Roubaix, Tirreno-Adriatico, four stages at the Tour de France. He also starred in Québec and Montréal (nine podiums and two wins).
