Koppenberg Cross

10th win for the Nys family on the Koppenberg

“I never thought I would win today alone. It’s such a slow race it completely drains you. As a rider you have time to think. You’re always preoccupied with yourself. Sometimes you feel you are riding alone here. It’s really weird. It was super slippery on the Koppenberg cobbles. I made the mistake of choosing a slightly softer tire profile and starting the race with a little too much pressure. It didn’t work out well. But afterwards, I started doing my stuff straight away. There are a few possible intervals here, but finding that limit is difficult, because you had to systematically swing to stay upright. It’s wonderful to have been able to win here.”
