After the crash on the descent with 35km to go, the race was neutralised into Legutio, and GC times were not taken at the finish. Race officials allowed the original breakaway of six riders to continue the last 20km and contest the stage win. Louis Meintjes, Reuben Thompson, and Karel Vacek continued onward. With 10km to go, Meintjes went clear and crossed the line for the stage victory.
Update on Jonas:It was a nasty crash, but fortunately he is stable and conscious. Examinations at the hospital have revealed that he has a broken collarbone and several broken ribs. He remains in hospital as a precaution.
