Tro-Bro Léon is a 200km slog through the Brittany countryside, with two dozen sectors of ribinou (dirt-covered farm tracks). It’s considered the Paris-Roubaix of the west, and is circled on the calendars of the Breton riders. Unique already. But, the best placed Breton rider gets a most unique prize… a piglet reared at a local farm. It is this unique agricultural community is the heart of Brittany.
"Breton riders are always really up for this race. If we don't win, it's a nice consolation to be on the podium, with our pig, in front of all the people. The dream is to be on the top step, together with the pig."
-Laurent Pichon. 3-time top Breton rider and of course… 3 pigs.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary ARKEA-B&B HOTELS squad, and the 40th anniversary of Tro Bro Leon, the riders will wear a white and black 'Excalibur' jersey to reflect the colours of Brittany.
