Biniam Girmay took an historic second sprint victory on stage 8 in Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises. He currently is the only rider to win two stages in this Tour. He now has sits at the top of the green jersey classification with 216 points, 88 points from second-place Philipsen. He is the favorite to win it.

RaphaĆ«l Geminiani was a legendary figure in French cycling, died at 99. He was one of the top climbers during the 40s and 50s, winning seven Tour de France stages and finishing second at the 1951 race. He also won three king of the mountains titles; Giro d’ltalia (1952, 1957) and Tour de France (1951).
