Lenny on top of Thyon 2000 & Vivianni!

Lenny Martinez may have finished runner-up on Stage 3, but the young French climbing specialist showed true grit on the Queen Stage, powering and outsprinting Joao Almeida atop the brutal Thyon 2000 climb of the Tour de Romandie. With the victory and 10 bonus seconds, Martinez moved into the overall lead, holding a slim 2-second advantage over Fortunato heading into tomorrow's decisive ITT in Geneva.

"It was a super long climb, so here you just have to try to not go too deep for too long, otherwise you can get tired very quickly. It was really hard, but we rode really well as a pair, and in the end I had the punch to beat Joao Almeida, but he was really strong too.

This morning I woke up and I was thinking maybe I can win today also. I tried the best I could do and in the end I won so I'm super happy."

For a while though, it looked like Elia Vivianni's professional road career might be over as he struggled to find a contract after leaving INEOS at the end of 2024. Lotto came calling and now the Italian sprinter has rewarded his team with a stage win at the Tour of Turkey.

"I'm an experienced guy in a really young team, and the first thing is that I want them to learn from me. They can learn resilience, to continue believing in this in this modern cycling where everyone know's it's difficult to take a win, so I'm really happy. I always think I can still have it. Finally, now everyone knows."
