La Vuelta: Ayuso bounces back

Shutting out the noise

Spain has it's first winner of La Vuelta, Juan Ayuso (UAE) went solo on the final climb to the finish to win stage seven, notably showing a remarkable recovery from his collapse in the Pyrenees the previous day, as Torstein Traeen stays in the red jersey. UAE keeps on rolling, celebrates its third consecutive stage win.

"I think we saw the real Juan Ayuso today. It's one of my best victories, because of how difficult it was. I suffered a lot in the first hour. I knew I had to get over the Puerto del Canto ahead of the others to be in the breakaway.

Winning three stages in a row with the team is super nice, first with the team trial, a victory for everyone in equal parts. Then Jay did an amazing stage yesterday. And today, me... We don't have a sprinter, so I don't think we can win tomorrow, but we hope to carry on like this."
