CRO Race stage 1: Magnier wins TdL stage 3: Malucelli foils Kristoff

Paul Magnier keeps on winning. The French sprinter took the bunch sprint finish in Sinj and won the first stage of the CRO Race. Danny van Poppel (Red Bull) and Oded Kogut (Israel Premier Tech) finished second and third, respectively. This is Magnier's sixth win from his past seven races after dominating the Tour of Slovakia with four of the five stages. He's flying in only his second year racing at the WorldTour level, his 16th pro victory.

"Last month I got a lot of victories in a row. Also, from a super big job by the team. Again today, I can really thank them. We did a lot of good work in Slovakia, so we really trained a lot with van Gestel to get a nice lead-out, and he was amazing again today, so I'm really happy. We are really confident together, and I hope it will continue."

Matteo Malucelli (XDS Astana) sprinted to stage 3 victory of the Le Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia, his second win of this year's race centimetres ahead of Alexander Kristoff (UNO X), squashing the Norwegian from capturing his 99th career win. Kristoff has planned to finish his stellar career, at the end of this season, with the target of 100 career wins.

"A win is always good, it's always a good sensation. The team today did a super job from the start and okay, I am little disappointed, because when you take off one victory to one big rider like Kristoff as I know that he has a big goal to win 100 UCI race, and he is so close."
