A cold Tabor CX World Cup

Thibau Nys put on a stellar exhibition to win the opening round of the World Cup in Tabor, Czechia. The Belgian champion made it looked easy despite freezing conditions as he attacked on the second lap right to the finish comfortably.

“I didn’t want to come in a situation where you go into the last three, four laps with ten guys together and I felt good so I just went for it.”

Lucinda Brand keeps her superb early season form to win the opening round of the cyclocross World Cup, sprinting to victory in Tabor, Czech Republic. It wasn’t entirely easy, holding off a resurgent Sara Casasola in freezing conditions.

“I was hoping to fight more for it, but I slipped just before the pit. So I lost a few meters and then I had to chase back. Lucinda is already really fast so I couldn’t even close the gap. But I’m really happy with my second spot. It is actually my first World Cup podium so I am really, really happy.”
-Sara Casasola

“I heard that I had a little gap and then of course when you take the first corner you look back and you can see. That was really good because going with Sara on your wheel to the finish line can be a different result.”
-Lucinda Brand
