Friday File: El Purito; A Selfie In Paris, Clasica, Dominique Rollin Back On The Roads, Tuft Commonwealth Games & Slaying The Badger

Purito selfie in Paris.

Friday File opens with one of my favorite selfie pic of the Tour de France... El Purito Rodriguez. As one of the animators in the mountains, JRod wore the polka dot jersey for five stages finishing 3rd in the KoMs classification. Come Saturday he'll be lining up for Spain's Clásica San Sebastián. The route will be a test, climbing the steep Jaizkibel and Arkale twice. Also there is a very steep hill up Igeldo with ramps as steep as 22%. Can this be the perfect post Tour win for El Purito?

Climbers unite.

Selfie with Steve Bauer at the Tour.

As I'm having my coffee, this Friday morning, I usually check out cycling news and I'm pleasantly surprised that Dominique Rollin is returning to racing! Out of retirement, classic specialist and lead-out man Rollin will ride for Cofidis. With huge influence from French sprinter star Nacer Bouhani signing for Cofidis, Rollin was the lead out man for Bouhani on FDJ.

The image above is Rollin with Steve Bauer at the Port de Bales. I'm wondering why he is wearing the Garmin kit? Was Garmin about to sign him? Or was he just asked him to tag along? It really doesn't matter because he'll be riding for Cofidis next season! Welcome back!

Svein Tuft just missed the medals in the Commonwealth Games TT with a fourth place finish. Alex Dowsett took the honors. However, this Sunday, Tuft will return to ride the road race - Go Svein!

Perhaps the greatest rivalry in the Tour de France: Greg LeMond vs Bernard Hinault. Grab a comfy chair and enjoy this highly detailed and fascinating doc... Slaying The Badger!

Rollin est habillé en Garmin car il travaillait pour cet équipe durant le Tour (hôte pour les VIP).
