Friday File: Flanders Classics: Run Boy Run! Kangaroos in Belgium, Kittel & Museeuw

Flandrien time.

Friday File...

The organizers of the Flanders Classics have masterly created this little video masterpiece of the forthcoming Spring Classics. To raise your spirits and to get you further excited this video (above) will get you prime.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is 200 kms, 13 hellingen (climbs), 10 cobbled sectors. Killer climb: Muur van Geraardsbergen: 1.1km cobbled climb @ 20%. Last year Ian Stannard out snipped three Etixx escapees (Boonen, Terpstra & Vandenbergh) for his second consecutive victory. Stannard is not back to defend but his Etixx escapees (and probably the strongest team) will be back to try again. I'm going for Peter Sagan, but will a Belgian from Etixx win the this trophy?...

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne is the less interesting of the two. It's Sunday 200.7km and traditionally ends in a sprint. It's not entirely flat, there are 11 climbs. Oude Kwaremont @ 11.6%, 2.2km length at the 115km mark. I'm going for Alexander Kristoff to plow his way to victory.
