Contrasting (all weather gear) styles, 1989 Giro d'ltalia
I love the Giro d'ltalia especially through the Dolomites because of the high mountain drama and unpredictable weather. Here's a great image from 1989 with Andy Hampsten (1988 champion) riding beside Roberto Conti. Quite a contrast with foul weather gear; Conti wearing the old style hairnet and transparent rain cape and Hampsten (having battled and survived the infamous Gavia stage of 1988) wearing the new; Gore Tex jacket, Giro helmet and neoprene gloves. What special all weather gear will the riders wear this year... if any?
