TdU Stage 4: Rooster rallies to win

Narvaez protests at being squeezed for space, but gained more bonus seconds to inch him closer to the race lead.

Bryan Coquard pouced after turning in sixth on the final bend to hit the front piping Phil Bauhaus in an photo finish, with Jhonatan Naravez in third on stage 4 in Victor Harbour. Spain's Javier Romo stays in the ochre leader's jersey but his overall advantage was cut to four seconds over Narvaez heading into Saturday's defining fifth stage up Willunga Hill.

"Very lucky to win today, because yesterday is not a good day for the team, we didn't have good legs. And the GC is gone, we lose a chance yesterday, but today, I know it's my best chance to win here. And, yeah, it's a perfect day."
-Bryan Coquard

The Rooster crows: Second stage win at the Tour Down Under having won the fourth stage back in 2023.
