Friday File: Canadians at Volta a Catalunya & Spartacus Time.

Parisien...

Friday File:

Here's a look at two Canadian riders that shone today...

Francois Parisien.

Former Spidertech rider, Francois Parisien won a gutsy sprint on stage 5 Volta a Catalunya. Blazing to the line he denied Sammy Dumoulin for his biggest win. A boost of confidence for the 30 year old Quebecer that only can mean further success with WorldTour Team Argos-Shimano.

Christian Meier.

Christian Meier (Orica) is riding well too and leads in the Sprint Classification.

Meier shining brightly...

Another rider who is shining is Dan Martin of Garmin-Sharp. Winning yesterday's stage 4 he holds onto the lead just ahead of Purito Rodriguez.

Chapeau!

Forget the bad luck of 2012...
it's Spartacus time!

Fabian Cancellara attacked on the Kwaremont and did what he does best and powered away to win the E3 Harelbeke. No one had the legs to follow, not even Sagan (second), Chavanel (sixth), Tom Boonen (seventh) or Boasson Hagen (ninth).
"This is big day for me after a tough time after last year. It was beautiful."
