40iem-SL, Zona: Cycles Marinoni Returns Back To The Glory Days

Speed Demon with his trusty steel lugged Marinoni,
Giuseppi Marinoni holds the world hour record 74-79 age group, 35.728 kms, Oct. 2012
in Brescia, Italy

This is retro steel frame news that deserves mention...

Cycles Marinoni is notorious for not advertising their famous bicycles. Not unusual for the famous marque bike frame builder. In 1974, Giuseppi Marinoni opened up shop, in Terrebonne, to build custom Italian bikes for the North American market. And success grew. He made several bikes for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. And soon word of mouth spread and his wonderful hand made Italian bikes were made for greats; Gord Singleton, Joceyln Lovell and Steve Bauer. Canadian cyclists weren't the only ones to benefit from his fantastic machines. Famous riders, Connie Carpenter, Beth Heiden and Andy Hampsten rode his bikes labelled with other names of manufacturers. With hardly any advertising, folks would still search him out and come to him in droves for his beautiful hand made frames. That was back then, and it hasn't changed today.

So, without further ado, here is my shameless advertising for Cycles Marinoni.

Here's my idea what the 40iem-SL could be.

As I was perusing through their website, I was more than happy to discover two new steel lugged 40 anniversary additions. I know many riders are clamoring back to vintage steel classic geometry frames. I for one, covet my steel lugged, straight road geometry, chrome rear 1987 Marinoni, so here are two new frames harkening back to those glory days of old. And, one can purchase chrome forks and rear stay options.

Now, I know what my second frame will be.
