Friday File: Battle Axe at the ready, Sagan Sweetly Close & Red Dots Cycling's Spring Forward Sale until end of Sunday

Alexander Kristoff is on a early season tear with stage wins in the Tour of Oman, Tour of Qatar and Paris-Nice. The man is just getting prep for the ultimate classic goal... of repeating in Milan-San Remo. How can you say No to a classy saddle like that?

Peter Sagan's Tirreno-Adriatico Prologue deserves honorable mention...

The Tinkoff Saxo big signing is questioned for his lack of wins. Honestly, I know he will win, practice patience - it's just a matter of time. The black cat that crossed his path may have been looked as an omen. He finished that prologue in ninth, a strong finished despite almost overcooking on that bend. Stage 2 into Cascina drew closer, a second place finish and another today. As it stands, Greg Van Avermaet and Peter Sagan are at the polar opposites of winning and not winning...

"It's always good when you get the first win of the season. I've been close to a win a few times this year but I'm happy to finish it off. This finish really suits me, even if there were some good guys to beat."

- Greg Van Avermaet

"If I'd won today it would have been better. I've got to thank the team because they did a great job by working all day. I didn't manage to win but it's not Sunday every day..."

- Peter Sagan
