Bardet & Peraud: 1-2 Dauphine Punch

les Dynamic Duo: 2014 Tour de France

The French AG2R Mondiale duo; Romain Bardet and Jean-Christophe Peraud are back for Sunday's Criterium du Dauphine, not just to train but to win. Last year's Dauphine was an eye-opener for French fans. I like Bardet's attacking style. He placed 5th overall before finishing 6th in the Tour de France. Thirty-seven year old, JC Peraud was France's Tour favorite finishing 2nd overall. Winning the Criterium International, he's a threat. The French fans have been patient for a winner. And Bardet has mentioned that, "It may be a good idea for me to play the role of a stage hunter." And, it's probably true that he is better suited for 3-week races, the Dauphine provides the opportunity to prove that he's a Tour contender.

My Dauphine prediction: Bardet will win a stage and podium.
