Friday File: Friday the 13th - The Gorilla Returns, The Dirt Roads & Ironmen

Friday the 13th...

Andre "The Gorilla' Greipel 'scared' the rest of the sprinters with his second stage victory. A fantastic feat as he powered his way to the front in time and to leave his rivals behind. A third stage win for Lotto-Soudal who appeared to be the underdogs but has strutted their talent to early Giro success. For Marcel Kittel, bad luck as he flatted with 6kms to go and out of contention to contest a German sprint. But, still success for the top two German sprinters tied at 2 apiece.

Full results.

Tomorrow's stage 8...

I did some checking online, and that steep climb of the Alpe di Poti will be on some gravel roads of the Strade Bianche. The famous white roads of Tuscany will be brutal for the riders but exciting for fans. Good for a rider that can power on those gravel roads.

My pick: Moreno Moser

Portrait time: The Ironmen:

I love steel bikes and I'm a fan of the eclectic, Pippo Pozzato. Here he is in
