LBL: Ardennes hat trick, The rise of Ben Healy

Ben Healy continued his superb spring classic campaign finishing fourth in the prestigious Liége-Bastogne-Liége. Healy's fourth place was the best Irish result since Dan Martin's runner-up slot in 2017. It really confirmed the superb form he showed this month in taking second in the Amstel Gold Race and La Brabantse Pijl, as major prospect for the future. The 22-year-old Irishman may well have taken second had the final 12 kilometers been tougher, but Pidcock and Buitrago were able to hang on. Coming into LBL, Healy had turned heads with a pair of second place finishes at De Brabantse Pijl and Amstel Gold Race. And the twenty-two-year-old had been on a steady rise all spring, taking wins at the GP Industria & Artigianato and Smettimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali.
