In the breakaway for more than three hours on her own at the front of the race, only to be caught by the peloton with 7km to go. The 27-year-old Spanish rider was awarded the day’s combativity jersey on stage 4. Following the stage, Benito also paid tribute to a childhood friend who passed away last year.
"It's been a year since a childhood friend of mine died. The anniversary was a little while ago. In the first few kilometers I felt like she was pedaling with me and I decided to send her a kiss."
