TDFF Stage 4 One-day classic, TDP Double-time, 1984 Tour de France Femmes Team Canada

Canadian Magdeleine Vallieres (EF Education Easypost)

Stage 4 of the Tour de France Femmes was like a one-day classic borrowed from the Amstel Gold Race and Liége-Bastogne-Liége. Notably the climbs were the Cauberg, Cote de la Redoute, Cote des Forges and Cote de la Roche-aux-Faucons, a true classic race. Noemi Ruegg (EF Education Easypost) finished fifth at the end of tough day and Olympic champion Kristen Faulkner moved up to fourth on GC less than a minute behind the yellow jersey.

"It was really a tough race. It felt like a one-day race. The weather and the rain made it pretty hard. Kristen and Mags gave everything to bring it back for me but in the end I got fifth. After two really flat and hectic stages it's nice to have some climbs again."

-Noemi Ruegg

"It was great. It's nice to get some good feelings after the last two flat stages and to be back in the short mountains. We came up a bit short in the end but Noemi sprinted for fifth so we're happy. So far there hasn't been a stage where we haven't been in the top five so it's been a great Tour so far."

Kristen Faulkner: into 4th overall.
