Trofeo Ses Salines, Girmay Goals, AlUla Tour stage 4 Kepplinger keeps it together

Marijn van den Berg wins Trofeo Ses Salines.

On day 2 of the Challenge Mallorca, Dutchman Marijn van den Berg sprinted to victory at the Trofeo Ses Salines.

“First race, first win is really good. In the sprint, I just tried to focus on my own race. We knew that it was a little bit windy today and made the plan to stay on the left side, where we were more covered from the wind. We all did really well to focus on the plan. For us it was a perfect situation. The sprint went really well and I could keep them in my wheel.”

AlUla Tour stage 4

Working well together on stage 4: (l to r) Alan Hatherly, Rainer Kepplinger, Tom Pidcock

Rainer Kepplinger (Bahrain Victorious) was undaunted on the queen stage of the AlUla Tour with a heroic 3rd place finish, solidifying his 2nd place in the GC.

“It was a fast and tough climb. When Pidcock attacked, it was impossible to follow, but I found myself in a strong group with two Jayco AlUla riders and an Uno-X rider. We worked well together, and in the end, I’m happy with 3rd place on this stage.”
