Lievin CX World Championships: final day, Trofeo Palma

Soren Bruyere Joumard gave French fans a glimmer of hope with 2nd place in the Junior men’s race.

MVDP equals Erik De Vlaeminck on seven titles in elite men's CX events.

"The record had been standing for a long time. I used to hope to equal it one day, but I could not have imagined that I would succeed one day."
-MVDP

"It's really nice to end the season like this. I didn't have a flawless two weeks leading up to this World Championship, the last five days were really difficult. Physically I felt like I was over my peak and I was fighting an illness. It never really broke through, but in the two weeks before a World Championship you want to build up confidence. That wasn't the case."
-Thibau Nys. Third place.

Canada's Isabella Holmgren takes fifth Women's U23 CX World Championship race (full race below).

Erik De Vlaeminck was the King of cyclocross, world-champion seven times (1966, 1968-1973)
