A Milestone victory for Wiebes, Mads Monster ride, Roglic ready for the Giro

European champion, Lorena Wiebes took her third WorldTour victory in a week and her 100th professional win in Gent-Wevelgem.

"To win Gent-Wevelgem for the second year in a row is special. It's a special week for me with three WorldTour wins in a row. It wasn't so much about that hundredth win or when it would happen, but after Brugge-De Panne it became a bit more of a thing. I never expected to reach the milestone of a hundred victories so early in my career already, but of course it makes me really proud."

A monster ride = 3-peat

To win here again, it's super nice. I have no idea what I was thinking (attacking with over 60km to go) but it was in favour of being alone with the full tailwind the last 20km. I had really good legs so I tried to open the race and then, at one point, it's the point of no return.
With Jonny (Milan) in the the peloton, it was my time to do what he did last year and luckily I was able to make it all the way to the finish line and if I could make it to the finish line then at least I would have put pressure on the other teams and Jonny would still of been there for the sprint so all in all for the team, it was a good scenario."
-Mads Pedersen

Roglic's solo attack stuck for the stage and the overall race in the Volta a Catalunya. His goal is the Giro d'ltalia in over four weeks.

Look back: Lars Michaelsen won Gent Wevelgem 1995 ahead of Maurizo Fondriest.
