Twenty-year-old Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates) is one of the rare cyclists from Mexico at the pro level has claimed his first major European victory with a wonderful ride at the oldest classic race in the world, 105th Milano-Torino. Del Torro made his move in the closing meters outsprinting Ben Tulett and Tobias Halland Johannessen on the famed Superga climb.
"I feel so happy to give back to those who support me. I can barely believe it. Hopefully, this is the first of many victories this year, but I know I need to keep working hard. He (Adam Yates) believed in me more than I believed in myself. He helped me a lot today. Next, I will be supporting another rider (Tadej Pogacar), but for me Milano-Sanremo is the big goal. After that, we will see."
