Sprinting power: Vernon & Ewan is back!

After a difficult couple of years, Caleb Ewan has a perfect start at Ineos Grenadiers, taking victory on Stage 1 of 5-day stage race Coppi e Bartali in Italy.

"No better way to start with the team. I came in knowing my form was pretty good but you know when you haven't raced so long, you don't really have any gage of where you're at. I think it was honesty one of the best lead-outs I've ever had so they did a good job. Everyone committed 100% and I'm just happy I could finish the job."

"Trek and some other teams made it hard on the climb, so I suffered a bit then. I came back thanks to the good job of Itamar my teammate who brough me back in good condition, and then Nick and Corbin and George were phenomenal in the last few k. We came with momentum about 2k to go with a full train and we were set up perfectly for the end.

It was really chaotic. I think we must have been going 80 kilometers per hour plus at the end there with the tail wind, it was super fast, but in the end, it suited me."

-Ethan Vernon sprints to victory Volta a Catalunya Stage 2.
