Frigo: First victory in the Dolomites, Vauquelin twice Huy!

In his third season as a professional, 25-year-old Marco Frigo claimed his first career victory, an unforgettable solo ride of over 70 kilometers to win stage 3 of the Tour of the Alps inn Innichen. A great day for IPT when Derek Gee finished third in the reduced bunch 19 seconds behind Frigo, a strong performance for the Canadian.

"We knew it could be a breakaway day today and we paid attention to that. Luckily I entered a big group, but big groups can be chaos. I knew it was probably a good idea to make the selection from distance. The attacks today were me trying to test the legs because I'm her at this race for a bit of preparation. I didn't believe in the first part (that I could win), but once the gap was increasing I did everything I could. This is my first professional victory, I did it my way, solo, so I'm super happy."

"I think I did everything well this race, I attacked where everybody says you have to attack, so I listened to my sports directors for a change."
-Puck Pieterse

"To repeat my second-place finish from last year behind Pogacar, ahead of Evenepoel and Pidcock, frankly, I couldn't have dream of much better. I'm stunned, I was well placed at the foot, thanks to my teammates. There was a break, then it came back. I saw Tadej attack, and I managed my effort. I saw Remco get stuck, and then Ben Healy attack. Unlike last year, I didn't delay. I gave it my all."
-Kevin Vauquelin showed his strength, gets his second runner-up finish in as many years!
